Q: How do you pronounce "Oesper", and where did that name come from?

A: The name is pronounced "Esper", so the "O" is silent.

It is a German name, and I've traced it all the way back to my 7-great grandfather, Andreas Oesper, who died in Junkersdorf, Germany in 1721.
