SAS Software and Astronomy
SAS is a remarkable programming
language and set of software tools for data mining, exploration,
statistical analysis, analytics, reporting, and web presentation. It
is particularly well-suited for sifting through massive quantities of
data. For example, the U.S. Census Bureau makes heavy use of
SAS.
It is thus surprising that astronomers have not yet discovered
the power of SAS. I'd like to help change that! As an observational
astronomer since 1977 and a SAS programmer since 1985, I am your
