"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

Ralph Nader: An Unreasonable Man
Anyone who is angry at Ralph Nader as I was for having allowed George W. Bush to win the presidency in 2000 needs to see this movie to remind them of all the important work Nader has done on OUR behalf over the years, the strength of the man's character, why he received 2.7% of the vote in 2000, and how incredibly messed up our political system is. These are perilous times, indeed. Global Warming is a serious problem that threatens the future of life as we know it, and humanity is the cause. Al Gore builds a compelling case for change at the grassroots level. It is up to those of us living NOW to create a new world economic system that is sustainable and without waste. WE will be judged as the generation that either saved civilization or destroyed it. We can dilly-dally and procrastinate no longer. The Earth's environment is already at the tipping point. The technology exists today to build a viable, affordable, zero-emissions, low-maintenance electric automobile. In fact, they were being produced by the big auto makers. Not any longer. What happened? Find out why "government of the people, by the people, for the people" needs to trump corporate greed and shortsightedness for the common good. Take a close look at what greed and materialism are doing to our civilization, and how we can choose to live differently--and live a happier, more fulfilling life. Multinational corporations are now more powerful than governments, and they aren't democracies. The quest to maximize profit (benefiting only a very few), plus a business climate that almost requires unethical and immoral behavior in order to survive, needs to be changed through strong government regulation and informed consumer behavior. Not only is the end of cheap and abundant oil drawing near, but the end of cheap and abundant energy is as well. Almost every aspect of our modern way of life is predicated upon oil, so big changes will be coming soon for all but the wealthy and empowered few. Will the U.S. continue to start wars to secure a disproportionate share of the world's dwindling oil supplies, or will we finally "kick the oil habit" and embrace--really embrace--alternative and renewable energy sources? To do the latter is our moral imperative.Rebel with a cause? Express yourself with a custom bumper sticker you design online from MAKESTICKERS.COM.
